TTIn 1990, I assisted my sister Cherie, in researching our family history. We discovered we were decendant's of D.A. Brown, a prominant citizen and business owner in Toledo's East side. Daniel Ammi Brown, son of Ammi and Sara (Miltimore) Brown came to the Toledo area during the mid 1850's. Daniel was born in Vermont and married to Amelia Fisher. The couple had six children with five surviving into adulthood. D.A. and Amelia's only son, Daniel Anson Brown married Gertrude Gessner of Fremont in 1898. The young couple lived together in the mansion with their three young children for a short time during the early 1900's. Their children were Corolen born in 1900, Betsey Belle born in 1904, and Gessner A. Brown born in 1908. My Great Aunt Betsey told of playing in the hayloft of the mansions carriage house with her young brother Gessner. Gessner, my grandfather, married Dorothy Herman and had seven children together. Their second daughter Jacqueline, is my mother.
